Red River Uke (UPDATED)

First?  Here’s a piece of propaganda.  I’m not sure if it’s pro-kid or pro-uke.  Maybe it’s both.  I just know it’s (as Sister Merry Hellish would say) adoraballs.

Seriously. I mean SERIOUSLY.

It’s enough to make a girl pick up a bottle of prenatal vitamins and poke holes in condoms.   As in Herbert’s condom.  You know, so he and Isabella can make me a tenor.  Never mind.

Today’s song isn’t the most upbeat, so at first I thought about using Isabella…seeing as how she’s all dark and brooding.  But thing is, Herbert wanted to do it himself.  First, he always wanted to be a cowboy.  Second, he loves his fans.  So Kirsten, Herbert sends this one out to you.  Isabella is writing you a sonnet.  Probably.  I can’t say for sure because she refuses to come out of her cardboard box when it’s snowing.

Thinking happy, healthy thoughts.  And maybe thinking TGIMFBT, too.  Just a little.  Happy Friday.

UPDATED:

This?  This is why I love people.  Most days anyway.  Well I love YOU people all the time.  Because you make stuff like this happen.

This might be the best comment to ever follow a post in the history of all time.  Thanks to all of you beautiful people for showing Kirsten and her family some love.  Doesn’t it feel good to know she heard you?

I cannot thank you enough for this beautiful, beautiful gift to me and my family. I sent Elly an email and told her that since she is the nicest person I do not know, I just have to pay forward the kindness.

To that end, I made a $100 donation in Elly’s honor to M.D. Anderson Cancer research center. My dad was on the board of visitors for M.D. Anderson, was passionate about raising funds for them, and even helped start the M.D. Anderson site in Orlando.

Since I do not have Elly’s address and do not want to stalk her with an info request, I can’t get MDA to send an acknowledgement to her personally.

So Elly, thank you for sending big bouquets of kindness out into this world and into my heart.

-Kirsten
